Planting an avocado tree is very tricky one.

Avocado is self pollinating having both male and female flowers and open only for two days. First female opens for few hours in a day when it needs pollen. Second day male opens to release pollen. Since both are not open same time less pollination and less fruit.

Type A – A type female flowers open in the morning and male second day afternoon.

Type B – B type is reverse, female open first day afternoon and male next day morning.

Because A and B release pollen at different times, there is more cross pollination and more fruit.
