Hawaiian Pink Guava, also dubbed as a “super-fruit,” boasts a pink-hued, sweet pulp laden with seeds, standing apart from the white guava. Its outer skin varies from rough with a slight bitter taste to soft, offering a sweet and sour-tart profile based on its ripeness. This unique fruit delivers a distinct flavour profile with a musky aroma and a creamy texture.
In numerous Asian countries, guava holds a significant place in daily life. Since its introduction to the archipelago, it has become an integral part of the local diet, a tree considered essential in every garden, easily enjoyed by simply quartering and consuming it raw.
Guava is resilient, capable of reaching heights of 4 to 5 meters in Perth’s climate if left unpruned. To facilitate fruit picking by hand, it’s recommended to maintain the plant at a manageable 2-meter height.
